The last part of the holiday...

Tuesday moning and it was time to go and get the car from Hertz to start our little tour to the area South of Perth. We left Perth not sure of what to do until Kellie would join us on friday morning. We had lunch in the town of Mandurah, an all day breakfast for Mattias and something more healthy for Maria and Malte... After the meal, we kept on going south while Malte slept.

But where to go? We finally let Malte decide on daddys first alternative (by waking up): Dunsborough. It was to become an excellent choice. First stop: Tourist info to book somewhere to stay. The lady helped us find a perfect place outside of Yallingup: A cottage on a Wineyard with spa and lots of space and views. It was a perfect setting for two days, just watch this view over the wineyard:

We slept well after that sunset. Even though there was a lot of bush sounds...

We spent the first morning looking at the Canal Rocks and touring Cape Naturaliste (incl Bunkers Bay). Lunch at wineyard Wise which was excellent by the way. Malte was in a bad mood, but we put him to sleep after his meal and we had a quite lunch after that...

After lunch we went to the beach: Eagles Bay. It was a beautiful day and not to hot. We of course had dinner at our very comfortable cottage and the spa bath was tested! (Malte was afraid of the bubbles)

The next morning we went along the Meelup beach road to find our own beach ... and we did:

A calm morning with no disturbances except for some clouds and seagulls.

Lunch at Bunker Bay beach cafe. The food was excellent and so was the view:

While Malte slept we transported ourselves to Busselton to walk the Jetty (1841 m) and visit the underwater observatory at the end. It was a windy Jetty and Daddy held Maltes stroller hard... but it was well worth the walk. We slept the night in an overpriced cottage in Busselton (especially compared to the one we had the night before).

Next morning (friday) we went to pick up Kellie (who had travelled to Busselton via train and car) and headed directly to Margret River to try some wines and other good stuff... Here is Maria and Kellie and they seem to look somewhat happy as they test wines (and later have lunch) at Clairault wines

After lunch we headed into Margret River city (took a walk) and checked into our apartment, had a swim in the outdoor pool and spa and prepared for an evening in the town as we put Malte to bed in his stroller. A little swim:

Dinner at Goodfellas and we started with a drink, cosmopolitan for the ladies:

The next day we kept on touring the wineyards and in the evening we headed for Bunbury and a lovely evening visiting Dudley, Dina, Taylor and Gaby. It was a birthday party and we ate and drank a very good meal and cake. Gaby was babysitting Malte almost all evening and Malte was delighted:

The next morning Gaby took us swimming in the local Public pool. Everybody was quite happy as you can see:

After that we all went for lunch (good Seafood) at Aristos in central Bunbury:

Evey good thing must come to and end and it was Sunday so it was time to head home for Perth again. Unfortunately some have to work (Kellie)...

Monday and Tuesday was spent surfing on Trigg Beach and the afternoons both days was dedicated to shopping of groceries and other less necessery things like Chocolate (Margret River chcolate company in Swan Valley) and Wines (in the same area). Here is one surfer:

Wednesday morning we returned the car very early and we all went for Breakfast in East Perth:

Malte had blueberry pancakes without Pancake...

Shopping during the day (mostly Souveniers since it was our last day) and then home to prepare for the Swedish Dinner. Kellie, Annemarie, Brooke, Mark and Emily had to sit through/try some Swedish dishes (Skagen toast, Biff Rydberg an Lingonberry Mousse), at least the wine was good since it was bought in Margaret River. It was a fun evening and it ended in the Underbelly with the Cashmere Maffia...

It's now thursday and we are leaving for home in a few hours. Even though it seems like a long time since we left just before christmas it also seems way to early to go back to the swedish cold weather and for some of us work...

On the other hand at least Malte probably is in need of some peace and quite and there are some things we start to miss in Sweden, like knackebrod and Tutti Frutti...
